Secure backup server

Cette page en fran├žais

You can use this server to backup your files. To do so, you can use sftp. It is secure, chrooted, and only accessible with ssh keys.

Then you can also download your files using only a web browser if you ask for it, with password protection.

How ?

  1. Send me a mail containing your username and your public ssh key. If you don’t have one, you can create a new pair : ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -f ~/.ssh/key -a 64 and send the content of ~/.ssh/key.pub.

  2. Once you’ve got my answer, you can use sftp command like this :

    sftp -o IdentityFile=path/to/your/private.key username@reiva.xyz:/pub

You may want to use sshfs to mount your storage on your computer (then rsync or whatever) :

sshfs -d username@reiva.xyz:/pub /mnt/mountpoint -o IdentityFile=/home/user/.ssh/private

Find your documents in https://www.reiva.xyz/sftp/username/pub

How much does it cost ?

The price is pay what you want.

You can use liberapay or this page to find the way that suits you.

Some advice

you may want to encrypt your data. To do so, use gpg :

tar cvzf archive.tgz directory/
gpg -c archive.tgz

If you have a key, it’s even easier :

gpg --encrypt -r yourmail file

To decrypt :

gpg ---output decrypted-file -decrypt file.gpg

Note

Only 50G storage is available. If you need more, I can configure a server for you.

This server is powered by https://openbsd.amsterdam/
